During his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday night, host Jimmy Kimmel held up a picture of Krasinski in his motion-capture suit that would ultimately transform him into the creatures that hunt him and his family in the movie.
“This is going to end my career,” Krasinski joked, before adding, “the commitment level was really high.”

Krasinski explained: “The amazing people at [Industrial Light and Magic] asked, ‘So how does the creature move?’ and I said, ‘Well, this is how I think he’s gonna crawl.’ And they said, ‘Well, why don’t you throw on the suit?’ And I was like, ‘Totally!’ Then they took that picture and I thought I was auditioning for ‘Lion King.’”
“A Quiet Place,” also directed by Krasinski, stars Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. It is about a family that has to live in complete silence, otherwise, these creatures will hunt them. Even the most normal tasks become daunting: eating dinner with the family, playing board games or going fishing makes the characters fear for their lives.

At TheWrap’s SXSW studio in March, both Blunt and Krasinski explained why they decided to work together on this film. During his Kimmel appearance, Krasinski added, “I’ve been next to her when she’s made all these amazing decisions and she’s without a doubt the classiest, smartest, most dedicated actress I’ve ever known. And when you see how much she puts into every role, I didn’t want her to come to set just for me.”
