Microsoft has today unveiled the Surface Pro 6 as part of its (sort of) annual hardware refresh. Like others, the Surface Pro 6 is too all about internals and therefore, features the same exterior, hinge, what have you. Unfortunately, Microsoft is not offering Type-C ports on this one either leaving you with a Mini DisplayPort and a standard USB.
The biggest and probably, the only notable change here is the presence of Intel’s 8th Gen chipsets which the company claims will be 67 percent faster than the previous model and an improved cooling system. Thanks to the latter, the Surface Pro 6 can last longer with a battery life rated for 13.5 hours. There’s also a new matte black option which looks absolutely stunning at least in the images.
The rest of the specifications are identical to last year — the Surface Pro 6 comes with a 12.3-inch (2736 x 1824 pixels) 3:2 PixelSense touchscreen, 8GB or 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of SSD, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 1.6W Stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 6 starts at $899 for the i5 variant and will be available from October 16th.
