In what was the most partisan battle to fill a Supreme Court seat ever, Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed as a justice in the nation’s highest court. Democrats knew they would be in the minority going into Saturday’s vote, but that didn’t stop them from continuing another fight, a fight that will end exactly a month after the Kavanaugh confirmation.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) took to the Senate floor before the vote to make his closing arguments on voting against Kavanaugh.
He encouraged viewers to vote in the midterm elections.
“I share the deep anguish that millions of Americans are experiencing today,” he said. “But I say to you, my fellow Americans, there is one answer: vote.”

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) also expressed a call to action in November:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) took her message right to the hundreds of protestors gathered outside the Supreme Court building in Washington, D. C., on Saturday.
“This hurts. What the United States Senate is about to do hurts,” she said to the crowd moments before voting “no” on Kavanaugh.
She added:
“It hurts every survivor of sexual assault who has been ignored. It hurts every woman who has been told to sit down and shut up. It hurts every person who will be on the losing end of a Kavanaugh swing vote.
[…] This hurts. But I wanna be clear: I am not sorry I got in this fight.”
She continued: “This hurts, but now is the time to turn our hurt into power. So I got a plan. Right now, I call it a 30-day plan. […] Take back the Senate, take back the House, vote Democrat up and down, and return power to the people where it belongs.”
