Pokemon GO’s in-game news reveals the November Research Breakthrough reward and this month the prize is a Pokemon who hasn’t appeared in the mobile game at all yet.
A new month is right around the corner, which means it’s almost time for Pokemon GO players to start cashing in on a new Research Breakthrough reward. This month brings an end to the cycle of Legendary Beasts and players have had lots of theories about what would come next, but the announcement still comes as a surprise to many players who were expecting the reappearance of an already released creature.
Instead of bringing back Kyogre, Groudon, or some other previous Battle Raid boss, Pokemon GO’s November Research Breakthrough is adding Shedinja to the game. The Gen 3 Ghost/Bug-type is brand new to Pokemon GO and its appearance has players guessing that the two preceding members of its evolution family are also going to arrive in November. This means that players may finally be able to fill in Pokedex entries 289-291.
Here’s a look at the official teaser announcement…
The in-game news alert about November Research also pointed out that some Field Research quests for the month would feature Bug-type Pokemon. Time will tell, but some players believe this hint could mean that Ninjask and Nincada are going to be Field Research encounter rewards. So far, Niantic has not confirmed that theory.
November is only a few days away, so the community should have answers to all of these questions by this time next week. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
Pokemon GO is currently available in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
