Kellyanne Conway might have spent the evening before the 2018 midterms campaigning with Trump for GOP candidates, but her husband seems to have been on a different page. Lawyer and noted Trump critic George Conway geared up for midterms by retweeting an article on how many false or misleading claims Trump has made during his presidency. It was just one of many posts he retweeted throughout the evening — and not the only one that subtly criticized the Trump administration.
The tweet on Trump’s misleading claims came from The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman, who was referencing an article by The Washington Post. The article is a long-running effort by the Post to keep track of all of the false or misleading claims POTUS has made during his presidency. The latest number estimates him to have made 6,420 false or misleading claims over the course of the last 649 days.
Perhaps more interestingly, the article notes the increase in false claims made per day over the course of POTUS’ presidency: in the first nine months of his presidency, he supposedly averaged five false claims a day, and in the nine weeks leading up to the midterms, he has reportedly averaged an astounding 30 false claims a day.
More to come…
