AAA wants everyone to be safe while celebrating the new year, and is offering motorists free rides with its AAA Safe Ride program.
Motorists can be sure they will get a tow and a safe ride home from their New Year’s Eve party whether they are a member of AAA or not.
“AAA reminds everyone to stay safe this year by designating a sober driver, calling a cab or arranging to stay with a friend before kicking off your holiday celebrations!” the association said in a statement .
While the program has begun in most states for the holiday season, Alabama, southern counties in California, Hawaii, New Mexico and Texas will begin today at 6 p.m. and run through tomorrow until 6 a.m., according to a statement from AAA.
People in the states that are participating in the program today are urged to call 800-222-4357 for assistance.
