Despite the tragic story it tells, the second season of American Crime Story begins bathed in light, the palatial estate of fashion designer Gianni Versace (Edgar Ramirez) radiating gold. This is a story about glamour, and how envy can drive men to do terrible things. The Assassination of Gianni Versace tells the tale of the murder of the legendary fashion designer at the hands of Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss), a grifter who killed four other men and eventually himself. The show gets to the murder itself almost right off the bat, and then proceeds to explore the relationship between the men that led, over the years, to Versace’s death.
