According to police reports, Robert J. Rockwell Jr., 18, was handling a .25-caliber handgun in a moving car on Nov. 29 when the weapon discharged, sending a bullet into the left shoulder of Zachary Allen Lester, then 16.
The shooting occurred when Rockwell and Lester were passengers in a car driven in Hartford City by 18-year-old Keiton Stacy. All three teens are from Montpelier.
On Jan. 22, Muncie police allege, Rockwell and Lester robbed a clerk at the Riggin Market, 4849 N. Broadway, while Stacy waited outside in a getaway vehicle.
