Some 326 passengers and 18 crew members were on board the Boeing 777 which was travelling from Istanbul to New York.
At least 29 people were injured, including a flight attendant who suffered a broken leg, after their plane travelling from Istanbul to New York was hit by severe turbulence.
Dozens of ambulances were deployed to the tarmac of New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport when the Turkish Airlines flight, carrying more than 300 passengers and crew members, landed on Saturday.
The city’s fire service said 29 people had been treated for non-threatening injuries, while Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Steve Coleman said 30 were injured.
