Spain will be the first country to host the EMAs in consecutive years.
MTV on Monday announced that Seville, Spain will be the host city for the 26th annual MTV Europe Music Awards this fall.
“We are thrilled to land in Seville for the 2019 MTV EMAs,” said Bruce Gillmer, global head of music and talent for MTV’s parent company Viacom. “It’s a vibrant city with an incredible music culture that will be the perfect backdrop for this epic night of music.”
Known internationally for its biennial Flamenco music festival, Seville in 2006 was designated by UNESCO as the first Creative City of Music.
Spain will be the first country to host the EMAs in consecutive years. Last year’s ceremony took place in Bilbao.
Camila Cabello was the big winner at the 2018 EMAs, taking home the award for Best Artist and claiming the Best Song and Best Video awards for her global smash, “Havana”, featuring Young Thug.
