Generations of outdoor lovers who’ve hiked, camped or picnicked here know that Michigan’s 10 state parks come with their own unique sounds.
Now the folks at Pure Michigan are aiming to help visitors recapture those moments in an album of ambient music.
A collaboration with Detroit-based Assemble Sound, «Pure Sounds of Michigan» features 10 tracks of field recordings from state parks accompanied by music. The full album is scheduled to be released on May 22.
«It was such a unique pleasure to work with so many Michigan artists on a project that hit close to home for each and every one of us,» said Kaylyn Waterman, operations manager of Assemble Sound, who worked with General Manager Garret Koehler on the album.
