A gunman killed a firefighter and wounded a police officer while they responded to a medical emergency Wednesday evening at a bus stop in Wisconsin.
Appleton police and fire officials said the shooting occurred sometime after officers responded to an emergency at the Appleton bus stop at 5:30 p.m. The shooting left a firefighter dead and a police officer and another wounded on Peace Officers Memorial Day. The 47-year-old suspect later died at the hospital, reported The Associated Press.
