Square Enix has announced in a tweet that intergalactic JRPG, Star Ocean: First Departure R, will be coming to Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4.
The game is likely to be an HD reissue of the 2008 PlayStation Portable game, Star Ocean: First Departure, which was itself a remake of the first entry in the franchise.
Developed by tri-Ace for the Super NES in 1996, the original Star Ocean was only released in Japan, and notable for using a special S-DD1 chip to compress the game’s graphics and map data. The PSP remake followed 12 years later and included additional content from developer, TOSE.
