Xiaomi has been patenting many foldable designs recently and this is one of the not-so-original ones.
Xiaomi has been patenting a lot of foldable smartphone designs lately. Now, the company has patented yet another design which is similar to the Huawei Mate Xs that launched a few months back. The company is also expected to unveil a foldable smartphone later this year.
The patent, with Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd. as an applicant, was filed at the CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) back in 2019 and spotted by TechiesBlog. It has been published recently and shows an out-folding design that Xiaomi has never tried before.
The foldable hinge lies at the centre beneath the display.
