Google has announced a new policy update that will allow real-money gambling apps to be listed in the Play Store in the US and 14 other countries. This isn’t the first time Google has allowed gambling apps to downloaded through the Play Store, but it’s the biggest expansion in years. The policy will take effect on March 1st, but it does come with quite a few strings attached. Gambling categories will include online casino games, lotteries, sports betting and daily fantasy sports, but those looking to list their apps will be required to prove a “valid operating license in the specified country for the type of online gambling product they want to offer” and be “an approved governmental operator” within the countries they want to be listed in.
