Film fans and critics say Delroy Lindo was ‘robbed’ of an Oscar nomination for his performance in Spike Lee’s «Da 5 Bloods.»
Promising Young Woman, Judas and the Black Messiah and Nomadland are all up for top awards for the 2021 Oscars but film fans are expressing outrage over the apparent snub of actor Delroy Lindo whose critically acclaimed performance in Da 5 Bloods was expected to net him a Best Actor nomination. Lindo, who is known for starring in a number of Spike Lee films, played Paul in the film, one of the squad of Black U.S. Army soldiers in the Vietnam war, alongside Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr and the late Chadwick Boseman. The London-born veteran actor,67, won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor and the National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor for the role of Paul and was expected to be up for an Oscar for his gripping and emotional performance.
