A Maine man was hit with federal hate crime charges in connection to a fire set at a historic Black church in Massachusetts last December. Dushko Vulchev,44, of Houlton, Maine is currently being held on multiple charges, four counts of damage to religious property involving fire and one count of use of fire to commit a federal felony, after allegedly burning down Martin Luther King Jr. Community Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Mass., federal prosecutors said Thursday. According to federal investigators, Vulchev is accused of setting fire to the church on four different occasion, and slashing tires outside of it.
