HP today announced two new high-end gaming laptops from the OMEN lineup and a new 16-inch offering from a brand new ‘Victus by HP’ lineup. It also announced a new 1080p gaming monitor.
HP today announced new gaming laptops from its OMEN lineup and a new Victus by HP brand. The company says that the Victus by HP brand is a “next-generation mainstream-level gaming PC portfolio”. The first offering comes in the way of a 16-inch gaming laptop. On the OMEN side of announcements, there are two new devices – the OMEN 16 and OMEN 17, with the latter being the top-of-the-line offering. The firm says that the OMEN 17 sports “desktop-grade gaming” thanks to the option to spec the gaming machine with up to an Intel Core i9-11900H processor. The device can be had with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU that can be configured to draw up to 165W of power. Other specs include the option to spec the device with up 32GB of RAM and 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD for fast read and write speeds, a welcome improvement for games. In addition to the specs, the firm is boasting improved thermals to complement the powerful specs, which also helps reduce the keyboard deck temperature by up to 5 degrees Celsius. The OMEN 16, on the other hand, can be configured with Intel or AMD chips. Users that want to go the Intel route can spec the device with up to a Core i7-11800H along with a GeForce RTX 3070 GPU.
