Amazon’s Prime Day is over, but its deals on Apple’s new MacBooks are not. Apple made a significant move last fall away from Intel chips toward its own Apple Silicon M1 design and we’re seeing some big price cuts on the new M1-powered machines. The baseline and step-up M1 MacBook Air models are still at the lowest prices we’ve seen yet, with savings of $99 and $149, respectively. The M1 MacBook Pro discounts aren’t as big as they were for Prime Day but still significant; the baseline MacBook Pro is $100 off, and the step-up model with a 512GB solid-state drive is $150 off. (For several of these deals, you’ll see a partial discount offered up front, plus additional savings at checkout.) The MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro lines received the M1 update, but the big 16-inch MacBook Pro still uses an Intel Core i7 or i9 chip. And Apple still sells two higher-end configurations of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Intel parts; the company has stated that it will support all the Intel-powered Macs for years to come.
