A miner in Alaska was rescued last week by a passing Coast Guard helicopter after seven consecutive nights of harassment by a bear in the tundra, the U.S. Coast Guard 17th District Alaska said in release this week. Upon being rescued, the man — who was not identified — requested medical care following a bear attack days prior and said “the bear had returned to his camp and harassed him every night for a week straight,” read the release.
