A failing component in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is causing audio problems.
Apple has introduced a new customer support program to fix an issue causing «a very small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices» to suffer from audio problems. The company said that devices manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 could feature «a component that might fail on the receiver module» that causes these audio problems. Only the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro appear to be affected; Apple said the program doesn’t extend to the iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max that round out its current smartphone lineup.
