At least 62 people have been shot so far this weekend in Chicago, and six of them have died.
CHICAGO (CBS) — At least 62 people have been shot so far this weekend in Chicago, and six of them have died. Eleven of the victims so far have been children under age 18. Early Monday morning, a 16-year-old boy was shot while walking his dog in the South Austin neighborhood. Police said the shooting took place in the first block of South Leamington Avenue around 12:25 a.m. A driver got out of his car, approached the 16-year-old and shot him. The teen was shot in the leg and is expected to recover. This weekend total includes a 12-year-old boy who was shot and killed in the South Chicago neighborhood. According to police, the boy was found unresponsive by a witness in the 8000 block of South Bennett Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The boy had been shot once in the head, and was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified him as Kaden Ingram. Kaden’s mother- Fallon Harris,37 – has been charged with first-degree murder in Kaden’s death. Prosecutors said she shot him twice after she demanded to know where an SD memory card was, and he did not produce and said he didn’t know. On Saturday night, a mass shooting in West Pullman left a woman dead and five others injured – including a 15-year-old girl. A group of people were outside heading to their vehicles at about 9:39 p.
