Armando Caballero, a maintenance worker at the apartment complex where Marcano lived and worked, remains the «prime suspect» following his apparent suicide.
The body of Miya Marcano, a Florida college student who disappeared late last month, was discovered Saturday. Orange County Sheriff John Mina said that the 19-year-old’s remains were discovered near an apartment building, The Associated Press reports. Marcano was reported missing after she didn’t board a Sept.24 flight to her home in South Florida. The remains of 27-year-old Armando Caballero — a maintenance worker at the Arden Villa apartment complex where Marcano lived and worked — who apparently killed himself, were found in a garage three days after Marcano was last seen. Authorities had spoken to him prior to his death and eventually obtained a warrant for his arrest.
