A dozen of the victims were children.
At least 45 people, including 12 children, were killed early Tuesday in a bus crash and fire in western Bulgaria. The bus, which was one of four filled with tourists returning to neighboring North Macedonia from a trip to Turkey, crashed through a guardrail on a highway, but investigators are unsure what caused the incident. The bus’ windows were blown out in the fire, which scorched the inside and parts of the outside of the vehicle.
