Tinder has added a Music Mode that, courtesy of Spotify, allows users to base their swiping decisions at least partly on musical taste. (Or lack thereof.) Music Mode builds on the Anthem feature Tinder and Spotify introduced in 2016. Anthem is exactly what you’d expect it to be: A song a Tinder user has decided A) reveals something about them and B) increases their chances of finding a match. It seems to work—Tinder says the 40% of Gen Z users who’ve enabled Anthems saw a 10% increase in matches afterwards. Now those Anthems will be combined with the new Explore feature, which is supposed to help Tinder users match on more than just looks, to create Music Mode.
