With multiple new flagship phones ready for launch within the next month, we may already be seeing a trend for the Android smartphones due for a 2022 debut. Here are some features and industry practices that form a part of this trend.
As we near the end of 2021, smartphone majors are gearing up for the year to come, and with it, the fresh round of devices they will have in their portfolio. The competition is such that several companies have already lined up the launch of their flagship smartphones for 2022. From the launch schedule, it looks like Xiaomi and OnePlus will be the first to do so. In case you were not aware, know that Xiaomi will be launching the Xiaomi 12 series on December 28. The series is likely to see the debut of three Xiaomi smartphones, namely Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The last one among these will be the best smartphone from the house of Xiaomi to date. Similarly, OnePlus has confirmed that its OnePlus 10 series is coming soon. The smartphone maker has put up the registrations for OnePlus 10 Pro in its home country China and has promised to announce the exact launch date of the phone on January 4. It is expected that the new OnePlus flagship series will debut within a week or two post the announcement. The two phone launches lined up for the next couple of weeks will be very important for the smartphone industry. Why? They will set the tone for what flagship Android smartphones may look like in 2022. This is not just because the launches will be held prior to products from other smartphone makers, but also because these phones have been speculated to come with several notable features. What’s even more interesting, some of these features are common on both, and hence we know that Xiaomi and OnePlus worked on those for catering to the popular demand. Here is a look at some of these features and how they will likely shape up the phones in the year to come. Up until now, smartphone makers have often shied away from using a new design for their smartphones, especially the flagship ones.
