From upcoming triple-A games to highly hyped gems, there’s plenty to look forward to, whatever your gaming passion. Whatever your platform of choice — Steam, Epic, Ubisoft Connect or Origin, there are loads of new PC games to add to your wishlist as well. These new games include bleeding-edge titles with ray tracing capabilities, as well as updates to your favourite RPGs, shooters and co-op masterpieces. The following is a hand-picked selection of games we’ve seen and are excited for. We’re sure you will be too. Best PC games to buy: Fantastic games to add to your collection Dying Light 2 Release date: 4 February 2022 Type: Action-adventure RPG Publisher: Techland Publishing Pre-order at Fanatical / See it on Steam Dying Light 2 was originally announced at E3 2018, a lot of time has passed since then and we’ve seen a lot of content too. A while back we saw a 26-minute gameplay demo to whet our appetites, then a trailer showing off more of the story, the parkour and the zombies you’ll be facing. Recent updates include some crazy footage of the various monsters you’ll have to dodge and the joyful eye-pleasing visuals too. We can’t wait for this one. Total War: Warhammer III Release date: 17 February 2022 Type: Grand strategy/RTS Publisher: Sega See it on Steam / See it on Epic Sega and Creative Assembly have said that Total War: Warhammer III will be the biggest yet with warfare on an unprecedented scale. The third game in the series is set in the Realm of Chaos and the Lands of the East with appearances of both daemonic factions and new human factions (Kislev and Cathay) as well. Elden Ring Release date:: 24 February 2022 Type: Fantasy RPG Publisher: FromSoftware See the official site / See it on Steam Elden Ring is the result of a collaboration between George R. Martin (author of Game of Thrones) and FromSoftware (the team behind Dark Souls). Now we’ve got a 20-minute long gameplay preview and a story trailer to give us a taste of things to come. We’d imagine this will be punishing, beautiful and story-rich. The new trailer certainly has a strong Dark Souls vibe to it, so we’re expecting some tough but satisfying combat and a glorious story too. Shadow Warrior 3 Release date: 3 March 2022 Type: Action-adventure FPS Publisher: Devolver Digital See it on Steam More demon slashing goodness from the Shadow Warrior series. We’ve always been fans of these games. Glorious colourful graphics, tongue-in-cheek humour and plenty of pew. Shadow Warrior 3 seems to promise more of the same and we can’t wait. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Release date: Spring 2022 Type: Hack and Slash Publisher: Fatshark See it on Steam Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is pitched as a «visceral» four-player co-op action game with healthy amounts of FPS action too. Details are thin but it’s being developed by the team behind the popular Vermintide so should be a blast. Star Trek: Resurgence Release date: Spring 2022 Type: Third-person adventure Publisher: Epic Games See official site/ See it on Epic Former Telltale Games developers are crafting a narrative adventure game in the Star Trek universe. Set in the era of Star Trek: The Next Generation it’s bound to appeal to Star Trek fans. The Day Before Release date: 21 June 2022 Type: Third-person shooter Publisher: MYTONA See it on Steam The Day Before is pitched as a third-person, open-world, zombie survival shooter. In a post-pandemic America, where you’ll be facing off against both flesh-eating infected and other humans who are desperate to survive. Sound familiar? Saints Row Release date: 23 August 2022 Type: Third-person shooter Publisher: Deep Silver/Koch See it on Epic Saints Row is making a return with an action-packed reboot. Like many other games on our list, it’s been pushed back a few times, but is still set to please. The team is promising the best Saints Row game yet, which is going to be quite a challenge as the series has always been pretty great. Scorn Release date: October 2022 Type: Horror adventure Publisher: Ebb Software See it on Steam Scorn is an atmospheric horror adventure game in development by Ebb Software. It was originally scheduled to release in 2018, but is still yet to appear. It is inspired by the works of H.R. Giger who was part of the special effects team for the film Alien. The trailer certainly shows some horrific visuals and a spine-tingling atmosphere that fans of the genre will love. Starfield Release date: 11 November 2022 Type: Space-based RPG Publisher: Bethesda Softworks See the official site / See it on Steam Starfield was teased by Bethesda in June 2018 as the first new franchise in 25 years. But that’s not the exciting part, Starfield is set to be a space-based RPG with plenty of glorious fun in the depths of space. Beyond that, we don’t know much other than we’re excited. It is now available to wishlist on Steam though. Everything you need to know about Starfield: Trailer, release date and more S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2: Heart of Chernobyl Release date: 8 December 2022 Type: Post-apocalyptic open-world shooter Publisher: GSC Game World See official site / See it on Steam S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is making a return with a promise of being «one of the biggest seamless open-worlds to date.» — a blend of horror, FPS and atmospheric sim, it’s also said to have an epic story with multiple endings. Awesome stuff. The latest gameplay shows a staggeringly beautiful view of a horrific world. You’ll have over thirty weapons at your disposal, to deal with all manner of horrifying mutated monsters and there’s a multiplayer too. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Release date: Sometime 2022 Type: Action-adventure Publisher: PlayStation PC LLC See it on Steam Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is bringing both Uncharted 4: A Thiefs’ End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy to PC in one neat package. Finally PC gamers can enjoy the wonders of Uncharted. Hazel Sky Release date: 2022 Type: Action-adventure Publisher: Another Indie See it on Steam Hazel Sky was revealed at PAX East and shows off an action-adventure game where you run about as Shane, a young engineer who’s trying to fix various flying machines. Certainly a quaint looking indie game. Sniper Elite 5 Release date: 2022 Type: First/third-person shooter Publisher: Rebellion See it on Steam Karl Fairburne is back again, this time working his way through eliminating Nazis while hunting down info on Operation Kraken — a Nazi plan that could threaten allied victory.
