Knockout City – the action brawler – is going free-to-play this spring as the title approaches its first anniversary. Developer Velan hopes the move will “bring our game to millions of new players around the world, by removing the price tag entirely”. Alongside the free-to-play aspect, developer Velan Studios will self-publish the game, taking over from EA. When Knockout City launched last year, it was under the EA Originals’ label – the publisher’s indie program. It launched on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch. Velan thanked EA saying: “we couldn’t have introduced Knockout City to the world without the incredible support of EA Originals.
