Bokio Johnson was charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder.
A Louisiana father is alleged to have fatally shot his son’s accused killer in a case of «street justice,» according to police. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) said Bokio Johnson,46, fatally shot and killed one person and left a second injured in a shooting at Chef Menteur Highway and Providence Place on March 23. According to Fox 8, Johnson killed Hollis Carter,21, who was out on bond despite having been charged over the killing of Johnson’s son Caleb,18, and his sister Breyiana Brown,25, in March 2021. Carter, who was charged with two second-degree murder charges, had been on his way to court when Johnson allegedly opened fire on him. Rafael Goyeneche with the Metropolitan Crime Commission questioned whether Carter should have been out on bond, and spoke about Johnson’s alleged shooting. He told CBS/ABC affiliate KNOE8: «Even the attorney representing the deceased called it street justice and he is absolutely right.» In a March 25 statement, the NOPD said officers responded to a shooting where they found a woman and man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
