Robert Morse, who won Tony and Emmy awards for his portrayal of Truman Capote, has died at the age of 90.
Robert Morse, who won a Tony and Emmy award for his portrayal of Truman Capote, has died at the age of 90. His most well known role was as Bert Cooper on AMC drama Mad Men, which resulted in five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. In a career spanning six decades, Morse gained early notoriety in 1961 in a stage adaptation of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, for which he won the Tony award for best actor in a musical. He later reprised the role in the 1967 film adaptation. Prior to this first Tony win, Morse began making guest appearances on television in series like The Secret Storm, Goodyear Playhouse, The Alcoa Hour, The Phil Silvers Show, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
