The World Video Game Hall of Fame announced its latest group inductees on Thursday. The four «iconic» games are the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Ms. Pac-Man, Dance Revolution and Sid Meier’s Civilization. The hall of fame said these games «have influenced popular culture and the video game industry.» The hall fo fame went into detail about what influence each title had on the gaming community and popular culture. Ocarina of Time, which won several «Game of the Year» awards in 1998, was praised for its storytelling, sprawling 3D world, complex puzzles and combat mechanics. Digital games curator Andrew Borman said video game developers today point to Ocarina of Time as influential in their work.
