Apple on Wednesday confirmed that it will issue an update to the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 13, and iPhone 12, and iPhone SE (2022) to enable support for 5G networks in the country. The upgrade will enable the recent iPhone models to access 5G networks in India. Bharti Airtel is the only company to have commercially launched 5G services while Jio has started beta trials.
Apple will start upgrading its iPhone models in India in December to make them compatible with 5G networks, the company said on Wednesday, as Indian authorities pressed mobile phone manufacturers to adoption the high-speed network.
The company said it would push software upgrades to recent models, including the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and iPhone SE, which, industry sources say, do not support the network currently.
