The Mozilla Foundation has updated its Privacy Not Included gift guide for the holidays, and once again it’s more of a guide about what tech gifts not to give if the purchaser or recipient value their privacy.
The list that the non-profit behind the Firefox browser started compiling in 2017 now covers more than 90 gadgets, unpacking their privacy risks and, less often, advantages in chatty essays. Busy readers will want to skip to the lists at the bottom that itemize how each device collects data, how the company uses that data and how you can control the data, and whether the product meets Mozilla’s minimum security standards (for instance, by encrypting data and providing automatic security patches).
