Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke has opened up on what’s next for the company following the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 and chimed in on the possibility of the Belgian developer getting acquired by Microsoft. His insights into the award-winning studio coincided with the launch of the PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3, which is already available for download in the West.
One of the many bombshells from Microsoft’s recent legal clash with the FTC came in the form of a list revealing the tech giant’s potential acquisition targets. The document, unsealed during a federal hearing in late June, suggested that Microsoft was considering bidding for Larian Studios due to the developer’s strong community following and a consistent track record with putting out critically acclaimed RPGs, among other reasons.
