Entering the ninth inning Friday night trailing the Pirates by two runs, the Yankees mounted a four-run rally to pull off a 7-5 win at PNC Park.
The late comeback, which got an assist from the Pirates defense, which wiped out a potential game-ending double play, came after Yankees reliever Anthony Misiewicz was drilled in the head by a 100.6 mph line drive off the bat of Ji Hwan Bae in the sixth inning.
As the ball ricocheted into right field, Misiewicz crumpled to the ground and was tended to by trainers.
