Xiaomi announced HyperOS with the Xiaomi 14 series. It is touted to have the smallest firmware size in the industry, measuring around 8.75GB. MIUI 14, in comparison, is about 13.09GB in size. So, the MIUI successor should be lighter and it also brings several new features. We have listed them below along with the list of supported devices. Xiaomi will start off the HyperOS rollout with higher-end phones and gradually replace MIUI in other devices, even from the Redmi branding.What is HyperOS?
HyperOS is based on a combination of Linux and Xiaomi Vela, the company’s own IoT software platform. The revamped architecture makes the new Xiaomi OS more efficient. Xiaomi claims the new OS should work better across different devices, irrespective of the onboard RAM.
