Brandon Blackstock has been ordered to return millions of dollars in overcharged commission to his ex-wife, Kelly Clarkson, whom he managed while they were married.
A California labor commissioner ruled that Blackstock overcharged the Grammy winner by seven figures when he represented her.
According to legal documents obtained Thursday by TMZ, Blackstock was found to have crossed the line when he booked gigs and inked deals for his then-spouse on “The Voice,” Norwegian Cruise Line, Wayfair and as the host of the Billboard Music Awards.
The labor commissioner states that only agents, not managers, can lawfully secure roles for talent; however, there are a few exceptions.
Blackstock reportedly owes Clarkson a total of $2,641,374 — a decision he’s planning to appeal.
