Google is here. Google has introduced its ‘largest’ and ‘most capable’ large language model (LLM), which goes by the name of Gemini, to the world. Google’s Gemini 1.0 is the “start of a new era” and is the first of “new generations of AI models,” reads the blog, penned by Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google’s AI unit . Google announced Gemini at this year’s developers conference I/O2023. As to what Gemini is and what it will do? Gemini is a combined multimodal AI model consisting of fundamental models. It is being pre-trained and fine-tuned on various modalities, allowing it to understand and reason about different inputs seamlessly and perform better than existing multimodal models. The system is proficient in programming, and it is twice as fast as its predecessor, putting its performance above 85% of the previous competition’s participants.
