Sony has confirmed it’s struck a deal with publisher Square Enix to make the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy a PlayStation console exclusive.
That’s probably not a huge surprise to Xbox Series X/S players, seeing as it’s been four years since the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PlayStation 5 with no word of a version of Microsoft’s console — but the trilogy’s exclusivity status is now finally official.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s vice president of second- and third-party content ventures and strategic initiatives, Christian Svensson, confirmed the news in a report on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, saying the partnership with Square was «mutually desired».
