A bold claim from Apple, and one that could supercharge next-gen iPhone devices if its holds up.
With the modern gold rush now coming in the form of AI, companies the world over are scrambling to interject these new technologies in their products. Apple, which controls a mighty ecosystem of hardware, is amongst those vying for an advantage in AI. To that end, Apple AI researchers have recently proclaimd that its in-house AI is making Siri on par with the lauded OpenAI Chat GPT-4.
In an Apple research paper titled «ReALM: Reference Resolution As Language Modeling, it states that «We also benchmark against GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, with our smallest model achieving performance comparable to that of GPT-4, and our larger models substantially outperforming it.»
This will take into account items on a device screen, with context of what tasks are also actively in place.
