Donald Trump wouldn’t face his first-ever criminal charges for another 18 months, but in an October 2021 merger agreement between Digital World Acquisition Corp. and Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, the firms disclosed they had a plan to mitigate any issues that might arise should the former president be convicted of a felony.
