San Francisco Giants legend Orland Cepeda has died at 86 years old, his family confirmed in a statement via the team on Friday.
San Francisco Giants and Baseball Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda has died at 86 years old, his family confirmed in a statement via the team on Friday night.
The cause of death was not announced.
Cepeda’s death comes just 11 days after his teammate, Willie Mays, died at 93 years old.
“We lost a true gentleman and legend,” Giants chairman Greg Johnson said in a statement, according to MLB.com “Orlando was a great ambassador for the game throughout his playing career and beyond. He was one of the all-time great Giants and he will truly be missed.
