Adam Schiff Airs Concerns of Biden Hurting Democrats in House, Senate Races

Amid calls for him to drop his reelection campaign after his debate performance, Democrats are worried about the impact Biden can have on down-ballot races.
Representative Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, on Sunday shared Democrats’ concerns about President Joe Biden hurting the party in down-ballot races, such as U.S. House and Senate elections, following his recent lackluster debate performance.
After Biden’s dismal debate performance against former President Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, in Atlanta last month, panic spread within the Democratic Party. There have even been growing calls for the president to drop out of the race and for another prominent Democrat to become the party’s nominee. However, Biden has vowed to stay in the race, telling ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an interview released on Friday that he would only drop out if God Almighty tells him to.
The congressman appeared on NBC News’ Meet the Press on Sunday morning where he was asked by host Kristen Welker: «Are Democrats in trouble with Joe Biden at the top of the ticket?
«There are concerns with the impact on down-ballot races if the president doesn’t do well», Schiff replied.
Welker then probed: «Is he dragging down down-ballot races as we speak?»
«At present, our down-ballot candidates in the Senate and in the House are doing well.
