Hands-on photos of Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL prototypes show that the latter sports a matte rear panel.
The latest Pixel 9 series leak reveals a comparison between prototype units of the Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The videos were originally posted on TikTok and displayed a big difference in design between the base Pixel 9 handset and the top-of-the-line Pixel 9 Pro XL While these are still pre-production models, they are probably close to what we will see when Google introduces the new Pixel 9 series on August 13th.
One interesting note that you can see is that the back of the larger Pixel 9 Pro XL has a matte finish that will help keep your phone from attracting fingerprints. The Pixel 9 in the same set of pictures sports a glossy rear panel, perhaps not as likely to attract fingerprints like the HTC Touch Diamond did in the old days, but certainly shiny enough to require the phone to be wiped down every now and then.
