Justin Timberlake was arrested for DWI in the Hamptons on June 18.
Justin Timberlake’s friend who had been partying with him tried to get the pop star out of his drunk driving arrest last month in the Hamptons, according to a new report.
Sources tell TMZ that a woman and her husband whom Timberlake, 43, was following in his car after their night out circled back around when they saw the Can’t Stop The Feeling singer get pulled over by police.
Officials claim they watched Timberlake run through a stop sign in Sag Harbor and swerve at least twice from behind the wheel. Timberlake, who refused to take a breath test following his arrest, is alleged to have been leaving a party shortly after midnight on June 18.
In court documents, police said they stopped Timberlake and observed that his eyes were «bloodshot and glassy.» Police also stated that «a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath.»
The woman reportedly got out of her car and started questioning police, allegedly asking one officer, «Are you going to arrest Justin Timberlake?»
The TMZ sources also said the woman asked cops if she could just take Timberlake back to their house where he was going to spend the night, but they arrested him instead.
