Intel shares new details about the upcoming Raptor Lake microcode update, which aims to fix crashing issues affecting 13th and 14th gen CPUs.
Intel has commented on the upcoming Raptor Lake microcode update, which aims to solve the stability problems affecting 13th and 14th-generation processors. These problems have been occurring with select Intel CPUs since the first quarter of the year, prompting the company to launch an investigation into the matter back in April.
In April, Intel confirmed that high voltage and frequency settings were causing a range of Intel Core 13th and 14th gen CPUs to operate outside recommended settings, leading the processors to experience performance issues and causing system crashes. These issues were prevalent on systems utilizing underclocking and overclocking settings, which allow the CPU to run outside its default settings. Intel worked with board partners to release BIOS updates for 600 and 700 chipset motherboards, but these issues persisted for months after the updates were released.
