Fatman Scoop’s cause of death was revealed after the rapper collapsed on stage at a concert in Connecticut.
Rapper Fatman Scoop died from hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, a spokesperson for the Connecticut medical examiner’s office confirmed to Page Six Wednesday.
Scoop’s cause of death was natural and no foul play is suspected.
The rapper and DJ, who was born Isaac Freeman III, died after collapsing onstage while performing in Hamden, Conn., on Aug. 30.
The 53-year-old musician was rushed to the hospital but was not able to be revived.
The following day, Scoop’s tour manager, Birch Michael, confirmed his death on Facebook.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, Known professionally as Fatman Scoop,” his statement read.
