Since the VP announced her candidacy on July 21, the Harris-Walz campaign has raised $540 million, far outpacing Trump’s numbers.
The Trump-Vance campaign said Wednesday it raised $130 million in August, down from the nearly $139 million haul in July and significantly short of Vice President Kamala Harris’ $540 million in donations since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
About 98 percent of donations for the month were under $200 each, according to the campaign. The average donation was $56.
Brian Hughes, a senior adviser to the Donald Trump campaign, emphasized the growing support for the Trump-Vance ticket as they near the end of the race. He credited this momentum to backing from Republicans, independents and some Democrats.
«These August fundraising numbers reflect that movement and will propel President Trump’s America First agenda back to the White House to undo the failures of Harris and Biden», he said.
With $130 million raised in August, the Trump’s campaign ended with $295 million cash on hand. However, Trump’s numbers still fall short of Kamala Harris’ campaign.
After Biden stepped down and endorsed her in July 21, Harris raised $204.
