Stryper misses out on their second-ever No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart as their new set When We Were Kings debuts at No. 2.
Some rock bands that have been together for decades like to work at a leisurely pace, often spacing their new releases several years apart, because their fan base will wait and support them when they’re ready. Christian metal group Stryper defies that trend, and they’re known as one of the most prolific names in their genre, as they are consistently releasing new full-lengths every few years.
Stryper’s new album When We Were Kings arrives on the Billboard charts this week, debuting on several tallies after a strong first tracking frame. The title nearly brought the band back to the top of one roster, but it fell short by just one rung.
