The Cybertruck’s huge success in building up reservations hasn’t converted into real-world sales.
You can now buy Tesla’s Cybertruck directly for the first time, without putting down a $250 deposit and waiting for an email invite.
This is because Tesla has now worked through its entire waiting list for the Cybertruck. The waiting list may even have topped one million, and later two million, if a crowdsourced spreadsheet put together by the Tesla community is accurate.
Tesla’s “Design your Cybertruck” page lists availability for November, with no mention of reservations, meaning you could own one in less than a month if you order now.
However, though Tesla has worked its way through a massive backlog of reservations, this doesn’t mean that you should expect your streets to be flooded with Cybertrucks any time soon.
According to quarterly US EV sales data, Tesla has only delivered close to 25,000 Cybertrucks since they first went on sale in November 2023.
